The Shining (1980), dir. Stanley Kubrick

When Jack uses an axe to break through the bathroom, he shouts “Here’s Johnny”. This is probably a reference to the catchphrase of the chat-show host Johnny Carson. However an alternative explanation is that it is a reference to an incident that occurred in the 1960s when Johnny Cash used a fire axe to break a connecting “doorway” between two motel rooms that he and his band members were using while on tour, and then broke through one of the doors from the corridor to make it look as if a thief had broken in and trashed the rooms.
